Project Overview
As a leading John Deere construction equipment dealer, West Side Tractor Sales has over 60 years of expertise selling and providing support services in the heavy equipment industry. With a combined 11 stores across Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana, leadership at West Side Tractor determined it was time to integrate green initiatives into their business strategies. This included a rooftop solar array at their headquarters in Lisle, Illinois, the first of many in their transition to renewable energy.
Solutions Provided
With a roof that covers over 60,000 square feet, Verde installed a roof-mounted system with 859 modules and 6 inverters, estimated to produce 554,550 kWh per year. This project qualified for SREC incentives, as well as ComEd’s smart inverter rebate incentive, which helped to offset out-of-pocket costs. SREC’s are a state incentive, whose value is equal to the solar energy you produce over 15 years times the price set by the Illinois Power Agency for REC’s.
